Sorting documents

The order in which documents are processed can be easily changed by clicking on the desired column title.
This order will be preserved as a user “preference” when the app is closed and reopened.
 
 
Note: in version v17.2.xx the sorting mechanism was extended to all columns within the grid in the Invoice and Purchase Order Acknowledgement modules.
 
Printing:
Printing hard-copies should follow the desired sequence of document as shown in the grid, however in case of a very large set documents, sometimes the actual printer changes the order in which jobs are processed.
This happens because the Paperless app sends the files to printer so fast that is possible that the last file is transferred before the first one is printed, in which case the printer may try to optimize the processing by altering the order of the documents. In order to avoid this situation, there is a setting in the Paperless app that can be used to add a small delay between print-jobs and therefore enforce the chosen order.
 
 
The Application Log can be very helpful to verify the actual sequence in which documents are processed.
